“Maybe we're not supposed to be happy. Maybe gratitude has nothing to do with joy. Maybe being grateful means recognizing what you have for what it is. Appreciating small victories. Admiring the struggle it takes simply to be human. Maybe we're thankful for the familiar things we know. And maybe we're thankful for the things we'll never know. At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing is reason enough to celebrate.” – Meredith Grey.
I felt a lot of things today. I felt sad, happy, content, angry, annoyed, spirited and hopeless. All of it. I wanted to blog about it later, but I didn't really feel like it. I couldn't make myself get to it somehow. Then I walked on the terrace at night. It was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l, to say the least. I promise. I stared at the stars for the first time. Like, actually stared. For looong. And the moon too. I didn't realize HOW pretty the sky was at night, until today. And I can't really write about it, cuz my stupid little distracted words are going to ruin it. Soo. Pff.

We've made life quite stupid somehow. We've turned it into a big deal, when its really not so. We're all going to die. Why don't we take more risks? Why don't we be more reckless. We should be. And I don't mean it in a negative way. I'm talking about Good recklessness. Having the courage to take risks and not wallowing in misery and self pity if things don't turn out well. Seizing opportunity when we see it. Taking chances. But no, we all have to be soo over cautious about everything. So scared. So obsessed about being Happy, and achieving our Goals, that we forget to enjoy the process. And at the end, what else is there but the process? Life itself is a process aint it? Our priorities are messed up, i tell you. Seriously.
“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently, they're not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things...They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” – Steve Jobs.
p.s. There's this movie where the guy's name is Art. Such an amazing name to have I think. Don't you? ^.^

I love lying on the grass out in the night looking up at the sky.
PS. Which movie is it?
i find something new in common with you with every post of yours. isnt it funny how this world wide web connects people in ways which otherwise couldnt have been possible.
That is my fave quote from grey's anatomy i have a poster of it in my room. And here's to the crazy ones is my alarm tone!
In my house there's this lobby leading upto the rooftop so basically the roof of that lobby is the highest level of the house. So what i do is, i got the rooftop and climb onto the roof of that lobby almost every hour to stare at the sky because is it is SO tranquilizing. Nothing more congenial to lucid thought as the clear view of the sky.I love that little painted picture of the orange girl staring at the sky. Do you make those yourself? It's very cute.
P.S. we have become so occupied with reaching the top that we forget to take the time to look around and enjoy the little pleasures life has to offer. I, for one, condemn that way of living but how does one make people realize what they're missing?
This is the original version:
"Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do."

Couldnt have agreed more.

I love grey anatomy quotes too.. and seriously it touches straight to the heart..
im a Greys Anatomy fan...its my comfort show..the show has more sense in it than some so called profound books.
Art..wow..wat movie???
I really like this post of yours. And ditto about the walking on the terrace/roof at night. Its just breathtaking especially with the beautiful, beautiful weather we're having *touch-wood* =P
I love Young's quote.
You just summarized my entire mission to-convey-the-message-of-the-entire-purpose-of-life-to-mankind in this post.
You make my mission so much easier n_n.
Hmmm. I believe one should become more content than being happy cuz life doesn't always offer you your preferences.
we're less reckless because although we know we're going to die, we don't know when and we want to prolong the uncertainty.
Most of the crazy ones, misfits, etc fail at what they try to do. For every Steve Jobs there are literally thousands of guys who failed.
It's easier to risk if you don't have much to begin with.
I miss Greys =(
Brilliant post :)
I'm on the same page as you are because lately, I've increasingly been becoming aware of the fact that our over-cautiousness, our fears, the time and energy we put in protecting ourselves from getting hurt is just.. making us dead, and lifeless.
All for good recklessness :)
P.S. Sharing your post on the bloggie
Salman Saeed: Aah but i never lie on the grass. The insects might crawl into my ear o.O . The movie is How to be.
Sara: Yeaah i did read the longer version before, but it was too long so i chose the shorter one. =] And totally, its SO frustrating when people don't realize what they're missing out on. =\

Spectrum: Yeah but i guess happiness comes with contentment. Too much contentment ain't nice either. Or you'd get stuck in that one place and never want to move ahead. =\
Alpha Zia: Its in our nature to choose the easy way out of everything, and to play it safe, yes. But not all of us have to courage to take that risk regardless of whats on the line. We might not always succeed, but i think Trying and failing is worth a lot more than not trying at all. But then, everyone has their own opinion. =]
Roshni: I do too =[ The new season better not disappoint meh.
Boogiemonsterman: Im so flattered :D This is the first time someone has shared any post of mine so it feels great =p Hahah. Thankyou :D
